A group of 10 youth, 2 college students and 6 adults will return to the Dominican Republic this summer to continue work on the building of a new church; assisting in a medical clinic and leading VBS in the community of Consuela.
Please consider making a financial gift by clicking on their Crowdrise link here. Or consider one of the opportunities below to support the group’s efforts. Thank you!
Buy Fair Trade Coffee, Tea & Chocolate
Throughout April and May, the youth will be selling Fair Trade coffee, tea and chocolate to help small farmers globally and also to help raise funds for their trip this summer. Stop by their table in the Narthex on Sunday mornings before and after the 11 am worship services to buy some delicious products and support a worthwhile cause! (Did we mention there’s chocolate!)
Donate Medical Supplies and $ for Building Materials
We’re continuing construction on a new church and also volunteering in a medical clinic. Building materials are quite expensive in the DR and we estimate it will take about $12,000 to purchase those materials and adequately compensate the small Dominican construction crew who will be leading the endeavor with our assistance. You may make a contribution by clicking on the Crowdrise link above or submitting cash or check at the display table in the Narthex, anytime through May 31.
We’re also collecting medical supplies to take with us for use in the clinic we’ll be helping to set-up. You may drop off the items (children’s and adult vitamins with iron, antibiotic ointment-cream, Advil-Tylenol, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, alcohol wipes, band-aids, guaze, betadine, bandaging tape) at the display table.
Be A Prayer Partner
Receiving a prayer package and a note of love and encouragement truly spirtually nourishes the group as they work to be Christ’s eyes, hands, feet and heart in the world. Please consider being a prayer partner for one of the 18 people attending this year’s trip. Once all the prayer partners sign up, we will assign you a mission team member and send out more details. If you’d like to be a prayer partner, please contact Andy, or sign up at the display table in the Narthex.
