Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church Seeking New Admin Assistant

Barbara Day, our wonderful Administrative Assistant of three years is leaving Pleasant Hill in a couple of weeks!

Barbara and her husband Joe recently moved to Monroe, GA the commute back and forth from home to the church is too difficult.  As much as we hate losing Barbara and the many gifts she brought to the position, we understand her decision which Barbara described as being very difficult because “its like family here.”  We are beyond grateful for all that Barbara has done for PHPC. She’s often the first smiling face people see when they come into the office and the helpful voice that greets them on the phone. Barbara has helped update our computer data base systems and worked on a number of projects and fulfilled multiple staff requests as well as put together a bulletin & inserts every week. She will definitely be missed!

Please keep Barbara and Joe in your prayers as they settle into their new home and Barbara returns to the field of clerking in the local courts. And if you have a chance, stop by the office, send a note or call her and give her good wishes for the journey ahead.

Barbara’s leaving means, of course, that we’re now looking for a new Administrative Assistant (so the staff is not running around like chickens!) While church members cannot be considered for this position, we would appreciate referrals from members.

“We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the pastoral staff and church membership with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. This position requires a team player with excellent interpersonal and computer skills, responsible for creating publications (worship bulletins, inserts, mailings, etc.), answering incoming calls and emails, and assisting with staff and office projects . This individual collects, compiles, and analyzes data and information, and follows up on requested information.

“As this position encompasses many different responsibilities, the individual we seek must have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, a high level of flexibility, strong organizational skills, individual initiative, the ability to work with minimal supervision, the ability to focus on completing assigned tasks in a timely manner, and have a willingness to get involved with the people and projects of the church. Computer skills include MicroSoft Office with emphasis on Word, Excel and Publisher.  Experience with ACS (Automated Church Software) needed.
